How to play and support
Your first match
- Hold your iPhone in landscape and tap “Play”. If you are new, open “Lessons” and choose “Play with guidance”. You learn matching cards, making hands and calling Koi-Koi while playing a round against Nekomata.
- Choose a card from your hand and capture a field card of the same month. When two field cards match, tap the one you want. You can also drag a hand card onto a field card.
- After you play a hand card, the card drawn from the stock also captures a card of the same month. Make scoring hands with your captures.
- When you make a hand, “Bank” secures your points and “Koi-Koi” keeps playing. If your opponent scores first, your points for that round are 0. You cannot call Koi-Koi on your last turn.
- During a run, choose blessings and visit shops to buy items and upgrade cards. You can check the effect, price and card before buying.
The list of hands and the card breakdown are available during a match. Blessings and marks change the scoring, so check the score breakdown too. If an effect captures extra cards when you bank, your final score can differ from the score shown before.
Card hints
The gold marks on cards you can capture, the glow on cards that lead to hands and the guide lines (card hints) are off at first. To show them, switch on the button next to “Hints ›” in Settings, or open “Hints ›” and set “Card hints” to “On”. On the same page, “Scoring hints” can be set to “Both”, “Yours” or “Off”.
Saved runs and settings
Progress and settings are saved on your device. Tap “Continue” on the title screen to return to a saved run. There is no sync between devices and no online account.
In Settings you can adjust music and sound volume, mute, animation speed, and reduce motion or light. If you hear no sound, check the in-game mute and volume as well as your device volume and audio output.
“End run” ends the current run. It does not delete your settings or past records.
Ads
A full-screen ad may appear when a run is over and you tap “Title”, “Try again” or “Enter Endless” on the result screen. Ads never appear during a match or a run, after you retire, or in your first run. When the ad closes, the game goes on to the next screen.
Devices that played a version from before ads were added (before version 1.0.1) do not show ads. See the privacy policy for how ads handle information.
If the game cannot save
If a message says storage is low or a save failed, free up space on your device before closing the app, then choose “Retry save” in Settings. Your latest progress may not be saved until the retry succeeds. Deleting the app removes saved data, so do not reinstall as a first step.
